I was a stranger for the first time but I now feel I am part of your community, I wish God’s blessings keep on praying for Sudan, My second Mission trip to Africa without forgetting to pray for this great Nation that had done so much for the world that does not realize and appreciate what has been done so far.
I want to let you know that the lost and found boys and girls of Sudan and Darfur people express their sincere thanks to all of “Y’ALL. ANY WAY I AM FIXING TO GO OVER YONDER YAONTO (any way for rest of you who are not from the South Y’ALL= you pl and you pl over YONDER = over there or some where that the speaker don’t want to say YAONTO=do you want to.
Thanks for your time. Remember“ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. ” (Hebrews 1:3)
Yours in Him

Dear Friends –

The deadline for registration is April 12th, and help with transportation is first
come first serve. Below is the link to register online. I am also including the
registration form as an attachment, and below in the body of this letter.

There will also be links to this letter and the online form from the
www.stopgenocidenow.org . We will also have a

this registration letter and online form.

Please read the letter carefully. The help with transportation and housing is first
come first serve. You can help your friends who don’t have access to the internet
by helping them fill out the form online.

I believe a powerful turnout of 1,000 – 2,000 Sudanese standing in solidarity
against the genocide in Darfur, and for the peace of Sudan, will be a profound
statement to the world, and will have a great impact on the future of Sudan.

Drive to Stop Genocide Now ~ Sudanese Standing Together Dinner ~ Rally to Stop Genocide

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION – APRIL 12, 2006

Dear Friends in the Sudan Diaspora,

Please join us for Drive to Stop Genocide Now, the Sudanese Standing Together
Dinner, and the Save Darfur Coalition’s Rally to Stop Genocide!

During the civil rights movement, Freedom Rides between Washington, DC and the South
were created to test the Supreme Court’s 1964 decision, which declared it
unconstitutional to segregate seating of interstate passengers. In part, The Freedom
Rider’s success lay in its ability to ensure that the Kennedy administration took
a stand on civil rights.

We believe that the Drive, Dinner and Rally can have the same effect – that the
policies of the Sudanese and US governments will be influenced because Sudanese from
various backgrounds choose to stand together.

Drive to Stop Genocide Now

Buses will depart for DC from Syracuse, Boston, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas
City, Sioux Falls and Dallas. There is no cost to ride the bus. Routes may change
depending on the response in these cities and the need for rides in other cities.
Not only do we want to provide rides to DC, but we hope the Drive will attract media
attention for Darfur.

For those that live West of Minnesota, partial scholarships are available for
airline tickets. Funding is limited and available on a first come, first serve
basis.

For out of town guests, a limited number of rooms at no cost are available at the
Best Western Capitol Skyline Hotel, which will serve as our central gathering place
for the weekend. Housing is also available with families in the DC area.

Sudanese Standing Together Dinner

The theme of the dinner is “Sudanese Standing Together…as equal citizens
celebrating Sudan’s ethnic, cultural and religious diversity.” We hope leaders
from Sudan and the US will join us as we stand together for lasting peace in Sudan.

The dinner is Saturday, April 29th at 7pm in DC. All Sudanese are invited.
Registration is required and there is a cost of $5/person or $10/family, however
cost should not prohibit anyone from attending. Location provided upon
registration.

Rally to Stop Genocide

The Rally to Stop Genocide will feature leading voices in the effort to stop the
genocide in Darfur, including a spectrum of prominent faith leaders, political
figures, human rights activists, celebrities, and survivors of the Holocaust and
genocides in Cambodia, Kosovo, Srebrenica , Rwanda, South Sudan and Darfur.
Everyone is welcome!

Date & Time: Sunday, April 30th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm – begin to assemble at
1:30pm.

Location: The National Mall in front of the Capitol Building between 3rd
and 4th Streets.

Trip to South Bor July 19 – August 4   no comments

Posted at 6:20 pm in Journal

Trip to South Bor July 19 – August 4

Dear Friends:

This summer, Aid Sudan offers an opportunity to serve in South Bor County as
a member of a short-term, Christian mission team.

For Sudanese originally from south Bor, this trip will include times to meet
and greet family and friends. Everyone, however, will be expected to take
part in the mission project selected for the team during our time in south
Bor.

In January, two men from south Bor traveled with us to Sudan and reconnected
there with family and friends. Although they were greeted for very long
hours, they returned to the USA safe and well-and with many stories!

If you or a friend would like to be considered for this next mission trip,
please print out the attached application and look it over. There are
important deadlines for making application, applying for your travel
documents, etc.

The application deadline is April 4.

Once you are notified that you have been selected for the team (this will
happen by April 12), your application for travel documents needs to begin
immediately. It can be a very long process, even if you already hold a
“green card.”

If I can help you by providing additional information to guide your decision
about applying for this trip, please phone me at the number below my name or
press “Reply” to email me.

Please feel free to forward this email and the application documents to
others whom you think might be qualified and interested in participating as
a member of the team.

With thanks and a prayer for God’s leading to be clear as you consider this
opportunity,

Russell
