Note from: Rev. Robert Mincks / of Kakuma Interdenominational School of Missions

Hello and blessings in the wonderful name of Jesus to Paul and Friends,

It has been a long time since corresponding the last time, and the work here has
been exhausting.

It was in Dec. that our first team from KISOM signed on to return to their home
regions inside of Sudan.

A team of graduates 2005 had signed up to go on Dec. 15, by Christmas time they
were back at Kakuma. There had been out of season rains and travel inside was very
difficult. The Channel was full and over land travel became to torturous because
of Landmines are mostly removed on paper and not in reality.

It is said that if you were to fly into Juba today you couldn’t find something to
eat by night fall, the NGO world has filled every thing available and are as yet
unsure of there directives.

A wonderful Evangelist has hosted a Christian workers conference on the 19th. of
Feb. with an open invitation just on the outskirts of Juba, and a tent city has
grown over night to assist nationals. Peter Franz in a Kenyan born German who has
been working hot spots in East Africa for many years. We meet him and his team
some three years ago when God was impressing upon him the importance of Sudan and
the timing of God. He has for the last year been doing Islamic hot spots and are
having wonderful signs and wonders that has been reaching into Muslim populations.

In Nov. of 2005 the Gospel Fire team went to The Duk areas of North Bor, having
real impact. The great need of the hour is to create new emphasis on tribal
solidarity and desire to reach out in an evangelistic fashion to Upper Nile and
the North Bor regions, as they are key to an indigenous movement in the south. We
are aware that this move of God must be from the inside out and not as other
missionary movements of the past. Peter and his teams are willing work with our
graduate students in planting satellite training centers for evangelism and field
work for unwritten dialects and un-reached areas.

The news of Islamic movement and interest in the south was heard in late Nov,2005.
When it was broadcast that Khartoum had taken a select group of one thousand black
Muslims form the south for training in the capital city of North Sudan. The
‘Aribic League ‘ has allocated money for each of the thousand trainees to pick a
location to build a Mosque, a hospital, and a school. It is the beginning of their
“social Architecture agenda.

It is now that the Church come to the assistance of Cush, and see God vindicate
his people.

blessings from Kakuma

Somepeople assume that Sudanese people in USA meet at regular basis but that is not the case. It as taken some of the Sudanese youngmen/women three to four years before meeting. It has taken Jacob Galuak, John Wal Mabut, Kuol Malual and I a while before meeting Nathaniel Mawut Awel Ruai.
I met his brother and the rest of his relatives during Paul and friends Mission trip. I am praying that God will be with all of during his short visit. Hi Ron. I’m getting back to you about the Teacher Training Institute SRD is
starting here in Nashville. Sudan Relief and Development (SRD), is creating
a Sudanese Teacher Training Institute here in Nashville to train Sudanese in
the US as teachers, so they can return to Sudan and help rebuild. The head
of the Masters of Teaching program at Trevecca and one of my MAT professors
have agreed to help me put the program together and will also help enlist
excellent teachers for the courses. It will take about 16 months (we’re
still working on the curriculum) and classes will be held on Saturdays.
Another exciting piece to this is that we will have the classes
professionally videoed and put on to DVD immediately, and the DVDs and
course materials will be sent to satellites around the country so others can
take the course concurrently. We have Sudanese ready to facilitate this in
San Diego, Minneapolis, and Grand Island and Omaha, Nebraska. We are looking
to charge around $15 per course, which will make it affordable for everyone.
We will also send the DVDs to Sudan and to another NGO that wants to use the
course to train teachers for a nominal fee.
We’re having an informational meeting on Saturday, February 25th, 5pm, at
Belmont Church on Music Row. We’re using the Fellowship Hall, which is
across the street and on the other side of the traffic light from the main
building. Would you please pass this on to your Sudanese contacts? We’re
looking to begin courses next September..
Hope to see you there.
Warmly,
Barbara

“ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. ” (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)

The Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement Tennessee Chapter hosts meeting featuring Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior at Lipscomb University tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
NASHVILLE (Feb. 10, 2006) —The Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement Tennessee Chapter is hosting a Sudan Political Party Briefing featuring Madame Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior Saturday, Feb. 11 from 1:30-4 p.m. in Lipscomb University’s Collins Alumni Auditorium, located at 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville. She will speak on the topic “Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the Development of Southern Sudan.”

Today, de Mabior met with President George W. Bush to discuss Sudan’s peace process and violence in its troubled Darfur province, according to a White House release. De Mabior, Sudan’s minister of transportation, roads and bridges, was among 161 members of the Sudanese parliament appointed in line with a January peace deal that ended more than two decades of north-south civil war, which left some two million people dead and displaced twice as many from their homes.

De Mabior is the widow of John Garang, who was appointed first vice president and president of the south in a ceremony in Khartoum on July 9. A former southern rebel leader, Garang was one of the architects of the January 9 agreement which his group, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), signed with the Khartoum government. He died July 30, 2005, in a helicopter crash after only three weeks on the job.

De Mabior will be accompanied by a delegation that includes several other Sudanese officials. Event organizers anticipate several hundred local natives of Sudan to attend the meeting tomorrow.
