The Scars Of Life   no comments

Posted at 5:08 am in Journal

God Bless ya and have a wonderful day!!

The Scars of Life…

Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided
to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to
dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes,
socks, and shirt as he went.

He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of
the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.

His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer
together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as
loudly as he could.

Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim
to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the
alligator reached him. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by
the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible
tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the
father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened
to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the
alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived.
His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And on
his arms were deep scratches where his father’s fingernails dug into his
flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved.

The newspaper reporter, who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if
he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with
obvious pride, he said to the reporter, “But look at my arms. I have great
scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn’t let go.”

You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not
from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are
unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are
because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He’s been
there holding on to you.

God loves you. You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provide
for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous
situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is
filled with peril, and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack.
That’s when the tug-of-war begins, and if you have the scars of His love on
your arms be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.

Please pass this on to those you love. God has blessed you, so that you can
be a blessing to others. You just never know where a person is in his/her
life and what they are going through.

Never judge another person’s scars, because you don’t know how they got
them. Also, it is so important that we are not selfish to receive the
blessings of these messages without forwarding them to someone else.

Right now, someone needs to know that God loves them, and you love them,
too. ~~~~ enough to not let them go.

Subject: SOME GOOOD CHRISTIAN HUMOR

Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say, “Good morning, Lord,”
And there are those who wake up in the morning and say, “Good Lord, it’s morning.”
========

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn’t find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: “I have circled the block 10 times.
If I don’t park here, I’ll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses.”
When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note “I’ve circled this block for 10 years. If I don’t give you a ticket I’ll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.”
========

There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his congregation: “I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it’s still out there in your pockets.”
========

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish carriage.
The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, becaus attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign… “Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do Not step in exhaust.”
========

A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question, “Boys andgirls, what do we know about God?” A hand shot up in the air. “He is an artist!” said the kindergarten boy.
“Really? How do you know?” the teacher asked.
“You know – Our Father, who does art in Heaven… ”
========

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump.
“Reverend,” said the young man, “I’m so sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip.”
The minister chuckled, “I know what you mean. It’s the same in my business.”
========

People want the front of the bus, the back of the church, and the center of attention.

========
A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, “I know what the Bible means!” His father smiled and replied, “What do you mean, you ‘know’ what the Bible means?” The son replied, “I do know!” “Okay,” said his father. “What does the Bible mean?” “That’s easy, Daddy.” the young boy replied excitedly, “It stands for ‘Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.’”
========

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, “Don’t be scared, you’ll get your quilt.”
Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning’s Sunday school lesson was about. He said “Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming.”
========!

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building.
Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play.
“Here’s a copy of the service,” he said impatiently. “But, you’ll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances.” During the service, the minister paused and said, “Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up.” At that moment, the substitute organist played “The Star Spangled Banner.” And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!
_______

Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

“Let Me Live That I may Praise You And May Your Law Sustain Me”   no comments

Psalm 119 New International Version

Psalm 119
‘ Aleph
1 [a] Blessed are they whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart.

3 They do nothing wrong;
they walk in his ways.

4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.

5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!

6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.

7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.

8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.

b Beth
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.

11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

12 Praise be to you, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.

13 With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.

14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.

15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.

16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.

g Gimel
17 Do good to your servant, and I will live;
I will obey your word.
18 Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.

19 I am a stranger on earth;
do not hide your commands from me.

20 My soul is consumed with longing
for your laws at all times.

21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed
and who stray from your commands.

22 Remove from me scorn and contempt,
for I keep your statutes.

23 Though rulers sit together and slander me,
your servant will meditate on your decrees.

24 Your statutes are my delight;
they are my counselors.

d Daleth
25 I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
26 I recounted my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.

27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.

28 My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.

29 Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.

30 I have chosen the way of truth;
I have set my heart on your laws.

31 I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD;
do not let me be put to shame.

32 I run in the path of your commands,
for you have set my heart free.

h He
33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.

35 Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.

36 Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.

37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word. [b]

38 Fulfill your promise to your servant,
so that you may be feared.

39 Take away the disgrace I dread,
for your laws are good.

40 How I long for your precepts!
Preserve my life in your righteousness.

w Waw
41 May your unfailing love come to me, O LORD,
your salvation according to your promise;
42 then I will answer the one who taunts me,
for I trust in your word.

43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth,
for I have put my hope in your laws.

44 I will always obey your law,
for ever and ever.

45 I will walk about in freedom,
for I have sought out your precepts.

46 I will speak of your statutes before kings
and will not be put to shame,

47 for I delight in your commands
because I love them.

48 I lift up my hands to [c] your commands, which I love,
and I meditate on your decrees.

z Zayin
49 Remember your word to your servant,
for you have given me hope.
50 My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.

51 The arrogant mock me without restraint,
but I do not turn from your law.

52 I remember your ancient laws, O LORD,
and I find comfort in them.

53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked,
who have forsaken your law.

54 Your decrees are the theme of my song
wherever I lodge.

55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD,
and I will keep your law.

56 This has been my practice:
I obey your precepts.

x Heth
57 You are my portion, O LORD;
I have promised to obey your words.
58 I have sought your face with all my heart;
be gracious to me according to your promise.

59 I have considered my ways
and have turned my steps to your statutes.

60 I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands.

61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes,
I will not forget your law.

62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks
for your righteous laws.

63 I am a friend to all who fear you,
to all who follow your precepts.

64 The earth is filled with your love, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.

X Teth
65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O LORD.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.

67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.

68 You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.

69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.

70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.

71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.

72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

y Yodh
73 Your hands made me and formed me;
give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
for I have put my hope in your word.

75 I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous,
and in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.

77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live,
for your law is my delight.

78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause;
but I will meditate on your precepts.

79 May those who fear you turn to me,
those who understand your statutes.

80 May my heart be blameless toward your decrees,
that I may not be put to shame.

k Kaph
81 My soul faints with longing for your salvation,
but I have put my hope in your word.
82 My eyes fail, looking for your promise;
I say, “When will you comfort me?”

83 Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke,
I do not forget your decrees.

84 How long must your servant wait?
When will you punish my persecutors?

85 The arrogant dig pitfalls for me,
contrary to your law.

86 All your commands are trustworthy;
help me, for men persecute me without cause.

87 They almost wiped me from the earth,
but I have not forsaken your precepts.

88 Preserve my life according to your love,
and I will obey the statutes of your mouth.

l Lamedh
89 Your word, O LORD, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
you established the earth, and it endures.

91 Your laws endure to this day,
for all things serve you.

92 If your law had not been my delight,
I would have perished in my affliction.

93 I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life.

94 Save me, for I am yours;
I have sought out your precepts.

95 The wicked are waiting to destroy me,
but I will ponder your statutes.

96 To all perfection I see a limit;
but your commands are boundless.

m Mem
97 Oh, how I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.
98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are ever with me.

99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes.

100 I have more understanding than the elders,
for I obey your precepts.

101 I have kept my feet from every evil path
so that I might obey your word.

102 I have not departed from your laws,
for you yourself have taught me.

103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!

104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.

n Nun
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.
106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.

107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word.

108 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.

109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.

110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.

111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.

112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

s Samekh
113 I hate double-minded men,
but I love your law.
114 You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.

115 Away from me, you evildoers,
that I may keep the commands of my God!

116 Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.

117 Uphold me, and I will be delivered;
I will always have regard for your decrees.

118 You reject all who stray from your decrees,
for their deceitfulness is in vain.

119 All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross;
therefore I love your statutes.

120 My flesh trembles in fear of you;
I stand in awe of your laws.

v Ayin
121 I have done what is righteous and just;
do not leave me to my oppressors.
122 Ensure your servant’s well-being;
let not the arrogant oppress me.

123 My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
looking for your righteous promise.

124 Deal with your servant according to your love
and teach me your decrees.

125 I am your servant; give me discernment
that I may understand your statutes.

126 It is time for you to act, O LORD;
your law is being broken.

127 Because I love your commands
more than gold, more than pure gold,

128 and because I consider all your precepts right,
I hate every wrong path.

p Pe
129 Your statutes are wonderful;
therefore I obey them.
130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.

131 I open my mouth and pant,
longing for your commands.

132 Turn to me and have mercy on me,
as you always do to those who love your name.

133 Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me.

134 Redeem me from the oppression of men,
that I may obey your precepts.

135 Make your face shine upon your servant
and teach me your decrees.

136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes,
for your law is not obeyed.

c Tsadhe
137 Righteous are you, O LORD,
and your laws are right.
138 The statutes you have laid down are righteous;
they are fully trustworthy.

139 My zeal wears me out,
for my enemies ignore your words.

140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested,
and your servant loves them.

141 Though I am lowly and despised,
I do not forget your precepts.

142 Your righteousness is everlasting
and your law is true.

143 Trouble and distress have come upon me,
but your commands are my delight.

144 Your statutes are forever right;
give me understanding that I may live.

q Qoph
145 I call with all my heart; answer me, O LORD,
and I will obey your decrees.
146 I call out to you; save me
and I will keep your statutes.

147 I rise before dawn and cry for help;
I have put my hope in your word.

148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promises.

149 Hear my voice in accordance with your love;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your laws.

150 Those who devise wicked schemes are near,
but they are far from your law.

151 Yet you are near, O LORD,
and all your commands are true.

152 Long ago I learned from your statutes
that you established them to last forever.

156 Your compassion is great, O LORD;
preserve my life according to your laws.

157 Many are the foes who persecute me,
but I have not turned from your statutes.

158 I look on the faithless with loathing,
for they do not obey your word.

159 See how I love your precepts;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your love.

all your righteous laws are eternal.

but I love your law.

164 Seven times a day I praise you
for your righteous laws.

165 Great peace have they who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.

166 I wait for your salvation, O LORD,
and I follow your commands.

167 I obey your statutes,
for I love them greatly.

168 I obey your precepts and your statutes,
for all my ways are known to you.

169 May my cry come before you, O LORD;
give me understanding according to your word.
170 May my supplication come before you;
deliver me according to your promise.

171 May my lips overflow with praise,
for you teach me your decrees.

172 May my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commands are righteous.

173 May your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.
This is the Scripture that God had put in my heart to share with you today.
Keep on praying for God’s Will to be done in every way passible

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO THE GRIEVED AND THE SPLM LEADERSHIP   no comments

Posted at 9:57 am in Journal

THE ANGLICAN CHURCH OF THE SUDAN(ACS)

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO THE GRIEVED AND THE SPLM LEADERSHIP

The Anglican church of the Sudan (ACS) paid tribute to the Southern Leader and First
Vice-president of the Republic of the Sudan; the Late Dr. John Garang de Mabior who
died last Saturday in a copter crash.

When we were baptised into Christ Jesus we were baptised into his death so that as
Christ was raised from the dead by the father’s glory, we also might walk in
newness of life.(Romans 6:3-4) Death of Moses and Moses servant of the Lord died
there in Moab, as the Lord said. Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of
Moab for thirty days until the time of weeping and mourning was over(Deuteronomy
34:5-8)

The Anglican Church of the Sudan(ACS) bishops’ prayer:

“Lord almighty, we are praying for our dear brother Dr. John Garang de Mabior and
brother in the Lord. May the Lord saved him to eternal life. We who are baptised
into the death of your son our saviour Jesus Christ may continuously pass through
death to your kingdom in Heaven by this dark world of evil desires and be buried
with Jesus and raise again for into His kingdom and eternal life forever and ever
that through the grave and gate of death we may pass to our joyful resurrection
though His merits, who died and rose again for His flock, your son , Jesus Christ
our Lord and Saviour. We are praying that our dear family of the Late Dr. John
Garang de Mabior , may the almighty give them His own grace of comfort, harmony and
total peace in their hearts and minds newness of life, Amen”

We Christians believe that our leader Dr. John Garang de Mabior is still live in
Spirit as well as his full vision and memory has remained with all Sudanese people.
Because Jesus said I am the resurrection and life, whoever believe in me will live
even though he dies. And who ever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you
believe this? (John 11:25-26).

COMMENT

Our powerful leader and peacemaker struggle and wisdom history will never be
forgotten by the Sudanese people as well as the world that has also lost him.

We also believe that the Lord almighty have already prepared a place for Him to
live in eternal life forever. This time of grieve is liken to the time when the
children of Israel grieved for Moses for thirty days. The almighty chose Joshua to
replace Moses. As for now, New Sudan people, our lord has talked through the
arrangement that the SPLM/A leadership has made. we should accept that the Lord has
taken John Garang and gave us Salva kiir, the equivalent of the Biblical Joshua.
The Lord has given us John’s Successor who is now Salva Kiir Mayardit.

We, the Anglican Church of the Sudan bishops pray that Lord grant him his own
blessings to be a peacemaker and unite all the Sudanese in the strength of love and
unity. That the Lord give him wisdom in order to fit rightly in Garang’s footsteps
as his successor and that the Lord be with him in the same way He has been with Dr.
John to take us home and work to see that we are in deed set free.

After the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of
Nun. Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all those people get ready to
cross the Jordan River into the land, I am about to give them( Joshua 1:1-2)

Anglican Church of the Sudan (ACS) bishops and the congregation paid tribute to Dr.
John Garang de Mabior who was a defender of freedom and a hero most respected icon
of peace. We are deeply touched in sorrow and join all Africans and the world in
grieving the lost and the most respected hero and peacemaker of the Sudan. But we
believe that through his gift as peacemaker he has won victory with his faithful
leadership for the suffering people of Sudan who believe in Almighty God as a
peacemaker. How good and pleasant it is when brothers live in unity. It is like
precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, down upon the collar of
his robes. (Psalm 133:1-2). ACS bishops, we would like to encourage all the
Sudanese and Africans to remained united and face forward to peace in order to
achieve the procedure which will take us into freedom as black Africans in Sudan.

ACS bishops have felt that the very various warm welcoming on different occasions
by millions of Sudanese people in various religious faithful and non-believers paid
to his goodness Dr. John Garang de Mabior during his lifetime as he revealed to him
his eternal and great wisdom and welcome be welcome back home by souls in the
kingdom of God after death. The leadership of Dr. John Garang de mabior was the
longest period in the Sudan history of SPlM/A and ANYA NYA one. The C-in-C was a
man of confidence and wisdom. Dr. John Garang led the people of Sudan in the right
direction in good faith.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength . They will soar on
wings like eagles. They will run like and not grow weary , they will walk and not
be faint. (Isaiah 40: 31). We ACS bishops would like to advise and encourage all
Africans and Sudanese that we should not lose hope for Dr. John Garang has shown
every one the way out into self-determination as well. He also opened all Sudanese
eyes in order to understand their leadership as citizens of Sudan never to be
served like second class in their motherland. Let all southerners maintain hope
and stick to Comprehensive Peace and Agreement(CPA) which has signed this year.

This revelation has assured our dear successful to Dr. John Garang , Salva Kiir
Mayardit that he would be highly remembered in prayers and in mourners and join
millions of the world faith, presidents and other ordinary people.

For this hope we hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who
hopes for what we do not yet have, we wait for patiently.( Romans 8:24-25)

The Anglican church of the Sudan bishops and their congregations from the Anglican

KAMPALA, Aug 1 (AFP) — The wreckage of a crashed Ugandan helicopter and the bodies of Sudanese Vice President John Garang and the 13 other people on board have been located in a remote area of southern Sudan, a Ugandan official said Monday.

The official, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said a UN search team found the debris along with the bodies in an isolated region near Sudan’s border with Kenya and Uganda.

“A UN team that went on the ground witnessed the wreckage,” the official said. “It said that all people on board died.”

In Nairobi, the deputy chief of Garang’s Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) said the helicopter belonging to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni had crashed south of the town of New Kush.
